GT established GT & CANARY Incorporated in 2004. Prior to setting up his own studio, GT served as Senior Designer/Art Director for another New York-based firm. There he worked on a variety of projects from branding and package design for infant toys to an ad that created the visual identity of a regional non-profit, to concept designs for retail stores.

Before he began his career in the USA, GT gained 10 years experience as a graphic designer in Tokyo. There he worked on many projects, from creating a logo for a Japanese national soccer league team, to a coffee package design for a leading beverage company, to designing the logo and signs for a theme park, to work for advertising agencies and publishers. He is the recipient of numerous awards from the New York Art Director's Club. American Graphic Design Awards, Japan Graphic Design Association and others.
